Last Name
Estranged siblings spend a lonely Christmas together and find a sense of belonging in each other, something they never really get from their families. They find each other in this vast world through a bond created by their last name and, more importantly, through the experience shared. Not much is explained, but felt. For my father, who supports me along the way. For my brother, who inspired this film.
The Trees that Whisper
A film that explores a journey that excites and saddens. This is based on my own realizations and feelings when New York life came true, loneliness and joy mingled.
"Maybe that's just how it is. Each person chasing their version of meaning through this chaotic maze."
9W
The film follows Andy through a single, mundane day as she navigates the bittersweet goodbyes and unexpected revelations that mark end of high school. From the dead ladybugs on the windowsill to the vibrant bonfire sparks, each moment is laden with nostalgia and a dawning awareness of what she's leaving behind. This film marks the end of my high school journey in Cornwall-on-Hudson where I learned to embrace my identity and transitioned to a life with stories to be written. I am incredibly grateful for everything that happened to me at SKS that fostered my creative and fearless mind. I am also thankful for my friends and teachers who had supported me along the way.
Tomorrow
A young actress is dedicated to pursuing her acting career but meanwhile meets some obstacles. She becomes unable to distinguish real life from acting as her jealousy and desires take over her mind. The film "Tomorrow" is inspired by a well-known tragedy Macbeth by Shakespeare. Gabriella, the main character in the story, is created based on my experience of jealousy and desire. I believe there is always evil in every human being, though in different forms. We are constantly trying to suppress the expression of evil, but we cannot deny its existence. If we let it out of control, bad things will happen, like in the film. However, it might be just an illusion, a dream, or a simple thought.

Apocalypse
2022 All American High School Film Festival Official Selection: Experimental
As the world is getting more industrialized, human’s influence on the environment is tremendous. The speeding global warming evoked long-dormant bacteria and viruses archived in glacier ice. Humans’ greedy plunder of nature will eventually come back to haunt themselves — this is what I believe. In making this video, I used visual aesthetics to warn the viewer about the danger of environmental damage. I used two opposing color tones to exaggerate the difference between the two worlds: nature vs. reality. My goal is to make my audience feel both visual and auditory stimulation.
